Introducing Grissom - Fur Baby #4

So, we decided to get another dog. Actually, we weren't even looking but Danielle (sis-in-law) decided she might get herself a dog and found him. He was called Grizzly at that time....Danielle decided to wait on the dog idea for a while and showed us his picture. Yvan was smitten immediately.

We thought it might be a good idea for Leroy to have a buddy and get used to not being the "baby" anymore (he will always be my baby). So, we phoned up the owner and took Leroy for a little visit. We were told he was kennel trained and house broken and that he was very good dog.
We thought about it for the night and decided to get him. We quickly switched his name to Grissom (yes, after the CSI guy) because it was close to his original name.

We picked him last Friday night and the poor little guy was so scared. He peed all over the house which is not cool but we believe now it is because he was scared..he has since been excellent and letting us know when he needs to go outside. He hates the kennel -in fact on Sunday night we put him the kennel for 2 hours while we went out and he rammed his little head against the kennel door enough times that he moved the kennel 4 feet across the room....he has some anxiety issues to say the least!

Today he is at the vet getting the old snip-a-roo! The vet already called and said he did really well and we are picking him up shortly.

These are Grissom's photos from the ad on Kijiji....who could resist?

Grissom meeting the cats. Yes, I know! Suki and Sam are big cats (about 18lbs each) aside from Suki's diabetes and need for insulin twice a day they are healthy and happy. Griss, however, is probably thinking "WTF? Those cats are huge!". He loves them and they are starting to love him too....Sam will now have a new cuddle buddy (she loves to cuddle - right Rhonda!)

Bath time for the boys! Grissom was pretty stinky so he needed a bath - Leroy needed one too so into the tub they both went.

All, in all he is starting to settle in. I think he realizes that we are going to take care of him...he is not so scared with us and loves to cuddle! He loves Leroy and pretty much whatever Leroy does Grissom follows. This is awesome because Leroy is a really, really, really good dog and if Grissom picks up Leroys habits that is o.k. by us.
Welcome Fur Baby Grissom!!!

Thursday's Inspiration - Day 10

"... the only time you ever have in which to learn anything or see anything or feel anything, or express any feeling or emotion, or respond to an event, or grow, or heal, is this moment, because this is the only moment any of us ever gets. You’re only here now; you’re only alive in this moment."

"Very few of us know how much we can put into life if we use it properly, wisely, and economically. Let us economize our time -- life times ebb away before we wake up, not realizing the value of the time we've been given."

Oh he's just adorable! I am sure he'll settle in and fit in with the gang in no time!

(This is a good reminder... I need to exercise some self control at the cat show this weekend...)

Finally pics of little "G"!
He is adorable! I know that getting Abby a playmate (Cassy) was one of the best things we ever did! Everybody likes to have a partner in life.
Glad to hear he's starting to settle in nicely!

That picture of Grissom & Suki and Sam is so funny! They look like they could eat him, or sit on him and squish him! I'm missing my cuddle partner :)
