Do You Know What Monday Is?

I do!

20 months of waiting for a referral (or propsal if you prefer that).

20 months.......

I am getting very tired of keeping my hope up.

It's as though we are in a bad dream and can't get out of it.

Are we on an episode of "When Good Times Go Bad"?

It feels like it.

I have been fairly upbeat this week considering but knowing Monday is coming has put a bit of a damper on my spirits.

Honestly, neither of us ever imagined we would still be waiting at this point.

We are off to Edmonton next week on a little vacation we planned back in early spring and I had visualized all the shopping at IKEA we would do for our new wee one.......

My "We can do this!", my "joie d'vivre" if you will, is waning.

The only thing I can think of to say is
**word verification today is**
zoofe-real word or not...for real. Are these real words. Somebody tell me cause maybe I'm the only one who doesn't know that these are not real words, or else I need to work on vocabulary.

Seriously. Keep on plugging away like you do. For 20 months, you are amazing. Don't throw a rock at me for saying this.....but its coming soon.
(((big hug)))

20 months is a long time when you're just 'ready' to be parents, I'm sure!

I, too, have a feeling it will be *soon*, juging by others' recent referalls being on/around the 18 month mark. It seems the numbers just might be in your favour!

My fingers and toes are crossed!

Totally stinks......I can't believe you're still waiting(sorry that maybe wasn't helpful but it's true).

Here's hoping!!

Steph ;-)

PS Kit, I'm pretty sure the verification words are just made up!! So I think you're fine with your vocabulary!

20 months?? This is some kind of booolshyt!! Honestly.

Have fun in IKEA - that's some good retail therapy right there. There is still a ton of kids' stuff you can buy now.

Also, I just found out there is now an Anthropologie at West Ed Mall. I say you buy some beautiful mama duds while you're there. Plus they have some awesome vintage kids toys/puzzles.

((HUGS))

I've never heard of "When Good Times Go Bad", but I'm sure it is / was quality television and you and Yvan would have been brilliant on it.

20 months is awful. I'm so sorry.

But you seem to still have that joie de vivre, however tough it is to maintain.

Enjoy your trip.

Thinking of you guys. This just stinks. Hopefully your visit to our fair city will be fun, I know the concert will be great! We are also looking forward to meeting... finally!!!

I agree with Hazel- this sucks beyond anything that could possibly suck!!!! Shop at IKEA anyway- we shopped there in Calgary last year- you can get things that go for either gender! Shopping helps- doesn't make it go away but it does help. Hope you can have some fun!

Oh you still have to do the IKEA shop... their storage stuff for kids is the best ever. And you are going to need a SERIOUS amount of storage, because when this child makes his/her long awaited appearance, I have a feeling there will be an avalanche of gifts! :)

I have nothing to say about 20 months. (Well, I do have a few words, but this is a G rated blog, right???)

So sorry- 20 months is a long time to wait. You have to be so close to the finish line now though.

Oh and Ikea has really cute red throw pillows with the African continent stitched on them. They also have really yummy Swedish chocolate that can make any girl feel good on a bad day/week/month :)

UGH. Sometimes, 20 minutes seems like a long time to wait for rice to cook, so 20 MONTHS... I cannot imagine. I'm so sorry this is so stupidly delayed. :(

Rana: I've been thinking of you. I wish I could say something that could make this go away.

Definitely do some retail therapy and don't forget to buy something for yourself 'cuz you totally deserve it. Anthropologie sounds very cool.

I think you should have an adoption hall of fame, or you should be in the Guiness Book of World Records for waiting. Sheesh!!

Buy a few things on your trip, who cares if they'll ever use them or not, it'll make you feel a "tad" bit better.

Hugs my friend

Is IKEA licenced? Twenty months should involve toddies.

Man, this is just not right!
