Spent the long weekend in Vancouver visiting my mom to celebrate her birthday. When you are feeling sad and blue, it is good to spend time with the one who gave you life. She always makes me feel better. I love you momma!
Saturday we headed back to the States to do a little shopping and my Auntie K and Cousin H came along too. H made us breakfast before we left....o.k. just the fruit salad.
On Friday Mom and I drove to Seattle for the day. We spent a couple of hours at Pike Place Market...you've probably seen it on t.v. or even been to it.
What a place! The sights, sounds, food, flowers, colors, musicians...fantastic!
It is a photographers dream...it sure got my creative juices flowing again. I could have spent the day wandering around taking a million photos. (click on photos to make them bigger)

Happy Belated Birthday to your Mom!!
Welcome back, Rana. I'm glad you were able to enjoy the weekend. There are times when only a mother's love can make you feel really better.
I can't decide which of your great pictures I like the best. The bundles of peppers are gorgeous.
It sounds like a welcome break for you -- some time to just get away and rest and enjoy the company of someone who loves you. Sounds perfect.
And your photos are gorgeous!
Sounds like a great trip. That dog is HUGE!!! The first pic I was all like... yeah ok he ain't so big, then I saw the pic with your mom... WOZERS!!! That is a mammoth of a dog!
I've been thinking of you lots. And oh how I wish I could have come with you!! Pike Place! Did they get you with the "dead" fish? Or throw one at you to catch? I'm a bit sad- we always take a picture on the bronze pig and you didn't have one of it- I'll have to share one with you sometime! Or I'll take a new one in July!
I'm so glad you could be with your mom and just get away.
Ramona (who is really going nuts today!)
wow, that is a big dog!
Great pictures! looks like you had a good tome with your Mom!
how about "time", not "tome!"
Oooo, Seattle looks awesome! I'd kill to be let loose there with a camera too!
Glad you had a nice time with your Mom! What a great cake too!
Yay! Time with your mom! BRUTUS RULES! He is beautiful. Great pics of Seattle. I love Seattle. I think people who live there just say that it rains all the time so more people don't pick up and move there. I am glad you got to get away for a break.
xoxo.
Your Mom looks SO young. I am sure you hear that often :) Gorgeous photos....reminds me of being at the markets in Spain and just wanted to spend hours taking pictures. Glad you had a great time!
Happy Birthday mommy to Rana :) I'm so glad you got to get away for a few days for a change of scenery. And that dog, holy, moly, we could put a saddle on it and ride it like a horse!!!
Looks like you had a nice time, what a great birthday gift for your mom, to have her daughter with her. I loved your pictures of the market, very cool! I love big dogs, we have a St. Bernard named Lucy, she's the best!
I'm glad you had a good time - we loved Pike's Place as well - brought back great memories!

Ah, I love Pike Place market! We are only 10 minutes from the border, so we go down a few times a year. It is my 6 year olds favourite place, and no visit to Seattle is complete without breakfast at The Sound Cafe, in the back of the market. Although, I did just discover a really cool homemade crumpet shop at the market last time I was there...mmm..my mouth is now watering!!!!
Are you from BC??
Ah your blog struck so many good points with me! I used to live in the Seattle area....ahhh how I miss it. Pike's Place is the best! And your momma's mastiff is GORGEOUS! He needs to make a date with my Kyah...they could make beautiful babies together!
Looks like you had a great trip. Hope that your Mom was able to cheer you up a bit. I am thinking of you lots.
Carolyn
That looks awesome! No snow either! haha! :) And that dog would eat mine for breakfast - wow!
what is it with your mom & big freakin' dogs?!! lol
gotta admit he is a cute, drooly thing!
*hugs*
Glad you are back!!!!
Great photos of the market!! It looks like a great place for retail therapy.
Great pics Rana but I have to tell you that my son Noah loves the photos you included in your entry titled, "Feelin like this today." He asks me every day to show him those photos and he laughs at each one. He just can't get enough of them.
You watching the Bachelorette? I hope some of those guys have some class.
