Today we held the TFAYLIHMC
THE FIRST ANNUAL YVAN LEBLANC INTERNATIONAL HALF MARATHON CLASSIC
Whew! That's a mouthful hey!
Yvan has been training since June for his second half marathon. I was also supposed to be training but because of a nagging IT issue and a low back injury I had to swap running for physio and weight training.
There was a big half marathon held in Regina this week but Yvan didn't feel like driving down for the race so we held our own.
and so I give you the
TFAYLIHMC
Number of participants - One
Number of volunteers - three

Whoot!!! and done all on his own without other racers, the crowd etc. to keep the ole adrenaline up.
Yvan would like to thank all those who helped make this race possible!
We hope to double our participant numbers next year!!!!

Congratulations Yvan! It looks like the first TFAYLIHMC was fairly successful. You know first events generally have lower participants, but next year, you can advertise and aim for more, LOL!!
Love the 3 volunteers pictures!
I am thinking that pushing the double stroller will slow you down a bit next year :)
This is AWESOME - the kind of race we like as well - NO entry fee :) LOL
If we joined - can we all design our own tee shirts?!?! :)
Wow! Nice job Yvan! I'm with Shauna in saying that pushing that jogging stroller will definitely make things more difficult next year! I think you should buy one, put a couple of sacks of flour in it and start training this year. LOL!
Shauna - I think it will be a single stroller but a double is a good idea because then we can put the dogs in it too.
Danielle: We bought a jogging stroller on Kijiji in the spring so I am totally going to make Yvan do that :)
Sherri - what a great idea - self -designed t-shirts - we could have a pasta dinner the night before and everyone could make t-shirts.
Rhonda - want to be in charge of promotions?
You guys are so cute. I am almost inspired to lace up my sneaks, almost.
Congrats!! Wow, that is a far distance...I have been trying to get back in the habbit of running 5K on the weekends and by the end of that I am dragging my heels. Good for you!!!
Cute race to, I like the fan club hehe
