Baby, IT'S Cold Outside

When I woke up this morning the temperature outside was -35 degrees Celsius which is bloody cold!

Today is a plug-your-car-in, wear-every-piece of warm-clothes-you-own, turn-up-the-heat, better-yet-just-stay-inside kind of day!!!

Jack Frost is not just nipping at your nose - he full-on took a big hunk out of it!!!

This is what it looks like out our front door today - Brrrrrrrrr!

We decided to make our favourite breakfast - Bagels and eggs with turkey bacon

Bagels and Eggs

2 bagels
4 eggs
handful shredded cheese
spices of choice - we use Epicure Herb 'n Garlic

-Cut bagels in half and lightly toast and butter (it is good to toast the bagels first so they don't get soggy)
-Spray frying pan with Pam
-Place bagels in pan and widen holes if necessary.
-Crack 1 egg in each bagel hole carefully (sometimes you need to lift the bagel up to let the egg fall thru slightly.
-Cook on medium heat
-Add water to help steam cook eggs (like basting)
-Cover and let cook.

When eggs are close to your desired consistency - sprinkle with cheese and spices
When cheese is melted you are done

Voila Bagels and eggs! Yum.

Now, I am going to spend the day reading the book my Sis-in-law, Danielle, gave me. Whilst curled up on the couch with a blanket and a cup of Bengal Spiced tea.

And because I have been told this book is a tear-jerker - I will make sure this stays handy.

Oh and yesterday we hit 13 months!!! UGH! That dull, thudding sound you heard was just me banging my head against a brick wall!

You are not alone with the cold - We were at -41C with the wind chill yesterday - It is going to be a long winter (in more ways then one).

And as for 13 months, boo, I mean horray that you've got that many under your belt. January I'm thinking, January.

Come on to the dark side! It's 10 degrees and raining in Ontario!

Mind you I would rather it cool off just a bit so we could have a white Christmas, but -35 - no thanks.

Here's hoping it happens in January for you... we don't want that head getting too bashed up from banging against a brick wall. :)

Good for you taking care of yourself!

brr is right... My dog comes in crying after going out to do his business! I've been drinking a lot of tea lately as well... but I need a good book - not sure I want a book to make me cry though... any other suggestions?!

That sounds like a yummy yummy breakfast. I am going to make it this weekend for my family. I'll let you know how it goes. :-) How was the book? I also wanted to tell you that Bengal Spice is my favourite tea. Kenya and I drink it together often...one more month down. Hopefully before your ticker can change the 3 to a 4 you'll know who your babe is!

Sounds a like a great way to spend the day when it's too cold out to do anything outside. I'm jealous that you got to spend the day with a good book and a cup of tea. Sounds heavenly.

This better be your month!!

Great book for anyone with a dog! You will need lots of Kleenex and I can't wait for the show that comes out Christmas day.

Hang in there and stay warm!

It is cold on the prairies- and the next door province is just as cold and windy... I was told that it's so cold people need to pick condoms with an R value...uhuh...
Month 13. How'd we get to be the "old waiters"? I so don't want to set a new record for the longest wait. Wish I knew what the next batch of referrals held already... One more month closer....
