A Little Privacy Would be Nice

I have been toying with the idea of taking this blog private but have decided against it because I like the idea that maybe we have "helped" someone find their way to adoption somehow....however, I do have some thoughts I need to get out and you have all been such a great lifeline for me....and I do miss being able to let loose on my keyboard whenever I have too much going on in my head to contain it without going a little crazy.

So many of you have been here for us cheering for us for so long that I would like to share some of what is going on with us but I don't feel comfortable just putting it all out there for just anyone to read....

I thought about starting a new blog but honestly I am having a hard time with keeping two blogs up - since my second one was the Project 365 blog and it has now gone bust because of a lot of emotional turmoil over the last couple of weeks - I have decided to use that one as my "I need to vent but don't want the whole world to read it" blog. I can password protect certain posts and get my thoughts out of my head and maybe get some advice back from you all.

So, if you are interested in reading some of those protected posts - send me an email (see the right side of the blog for my email if you don't have my personal one)

I have set some general guidelines as to who would qualify and you should be able to say "Yes" to at least ONE of the items listed below to get the password (not so hard right):

1. We have emailed previously more than - oh let's say 5 times.
2. We have talked on the phone more than 6 times
3. You have been to my house
4. I have been to your house
5. We have been emailing for months and months venting, ranting, crying, laughing...
6. You have allowed me into your private blog to share your story (thanks to those who have :)
7. I was born to you or someone close to you
8. We have been friends for a really, really, really long time
9. I have cried in front of you and vice versa.
10. We have gone for coffee, tea, lunch, supper together more than 4 times
11.. You have been following our blog forever ( and it seems like forever) and commenting and supporting us that way...well I probably "know" you....

Now, as I said you don't have to qualify for all of these items but you get my drift - if you are someone who has been reading my blog but has never, ever commented or come out of the woodwork to email me personally (because you might be to shy to comment on a blog) than I probably won't give you the password.

But if we have been sharing our stories thru blogs, emails, phone calls etc. and supporting one another than send me an email...but only if you wanna :)

I will still be blogging here because this is our main blog about our journey to family!

Much love!

P.S. Oh and you will find the link to my other blog on the right side as well - it will take me a couple of days to get this all sorted.

*Edit - if you want to leave your email in the comment section that works too - I will delete it so not everyone sees it!

Julie and Krista I have your email addresses already!

I appreciate this blog very much, even though we have never met. It's nice to "know" other locals who are adopting as my family is just getting started. Just thought you should know that you HAVE helped people along the road to adoption and even though we've never met, I'm totally cheering you on from my computer. :)

How difficult this whole process...I think of you often and you are in my prayers. Each situation is so personal and I respect your right for privacy. If you ever need someone to vent to - email away and I will be there....

Blessings

Hey Rana! Well I'd love to follow but I know as a blog subscriber I seldom make it over to comment nor do I meet your criteria. I'm going to keep following your blog and hope for some good news soon.

I've left my love from time to time, i've been following your journey for like ever!-HA-the hubby and I are with IA (DTE-Aug.18th/08). I don't have a blog, and don't really follow any of the other #'s on your list, but totally understand your desire for privacy-hence why I don't blog, well, that, and my life is pretty DULL!-hehehe! Just wanted to say I hope everything is going okay with you!

Hmmm, well I'm not sure if I qualify but if I do, please add me, you've got my email. I am all for a little vomiting over the keyboards, lord knows I've been doing it all over my family and friends for the past few years :-) Hope things work out for you guys very quickly.

I so enjoy being able to come to your blog and hear how things are going, have a laugh, have a cry for you, be inspired by you, think of you and leave (hopefully helpful/supportive) comments. Aside from that, I'd feel guilty asking for your password because I don't have much else to offer in return. I respect your privacy and appreciate that you will be leaving some of your journey out here in the great wide open for the rest of us :-) A

I don't qualify but I wanted you to know that your willingness to share your story has been an encouragement to me. We are with Imagine and are awaiting a referral still. I totally understand your desire for privacy in terms of sharing your emotions and "not for everyone" details. I do hope though that you will continue to post here with the more general stuff so I can rejoice along with you when Ade comes home. Never underestimate how the sharing of your journey through adoption has positively impacted the decisions of others.
Blessings on you,
Candice from BC

Hi Rana ~
I'm not a lurker but don't know if we've emailed 5 times either! I would love to continue to hear of your journey through either or both of your blogs.
I hope you are getting lots of care through the struggles you're going through now.
Take care,
Anni

Hi Rana,

I just wanted you to know that I think about you often,as I pass your work twice a day, and hope things are good, but when I read this post, I will assume they aren't...I really hope things are looking brighter since then...you really have a great support system...As much as I would like to continue reading your vents, I understand, but I also love looking at your photos of randomness...I can never understand what emotions you have been experiencing, but if you ever need a night out, want to hit up a movie, have lunch, or try to bring up you spirits with a few SPIRTS, give me a beller, and I will do my best to listen...Love Ya...RJ
