A Little Privacy Would be Nice

I have been toying with the idea of taking this blog private but have decided against it because I like the idea that maybe we have "helped" someone find their way to adoption somehow....however, I do have some thoughts I need to get out and you have all been such a great lifeline for me....and I do miss being able to let loose on my keyboard whenever I have too much going on in my head to contain it without going a little crazy.

So many of you have been here for us cheering for us for so long that I would like to share some of what is going on with us but I don't feel comfortable just putting it all out there for just anyone to read....

I thought about starting a new blog but honestly I am having a hard time with keeping two blogs up - since my second one was the Project 365 blog and it has now gone bust because of a lot of emotional turmoil over the last couple of weeks - I have decided to use that one as my "I need to vent but don't want the whole world to read it" blog. I can password protect certain posts and get my thoughts out of my head and maybe get some advice back from you all.

So, if you are interested in reading some of those protected posts - send me an email (see the right side of the blog for my email if you don't have my personal one)

I have set some general guidelines as to who would qualify and you should be able to say "Yes" to at least ONE of the items listed below to get the password (not so hard right):

1. We have emailed previously more than - oh let's say 5 times.
2. We have talked on the phone more than 6 times
3. You have been to my house
4. I have been to your house
5. We have been emailing for months and months venting, ranting, crying, laughing...
6. You have allowed me into your private blog to share your story (thanks to those who have :)
7. I was born to you or someone close to you
8. We have been friends for a really, really, really long time
9. I have cried in front of you and vice versa.
10. We have gone for coffee, tea, lunch, supper together more than 4 times
11.. You have been following our blog forever ( and it seems like forever) and commenting and supporting us that way...well I probably "know" you....

Now, as I said you don't have to qualify for all of these items but you get my drift - if you are someone who has been reading my blog but has never, ever commented or come out of the woodwork to email me personally (because you might be to shy to comment on a blog) than I probably won't give you the password.

But if we have been sharing our stories thru blogs, emails, phone calls etc. and supporting one another than send me an email...but only if you wanna :)

I will still be blogging here because this is our main blog about our journey to family!

Much love!

P.S. Oh and you will find the link to my other blog on the right side as well - it will take me a couple of days to get this all sorted.

*Edit - if you want to leave your email in the comment section that works too - I will delete it so not everyone sees it!

Julie and Krista I have your email addresses already!

Happy Birthday Wee Baby Ade

Today Ade turns one.

When we got our referral at the end of July, we thought for sure we would be travelling very close to his first birthday or soon after.

Life sometimes doesn't always unfold the way you think it is going to.

We will be celebrating our wee baby boy's birthday today,
and sending all our love to Ethiopia so he can come home to us!!!

Happy Birthday Sweet Ade

This Blog...

...seems to be going no where fast these days.

I have been sitting here for an hour trying to think about things to write.

So, here it is - still no papework...

...everything that can be done to get it is supposedly being done...

...so we wait some more.

This waiting...it is hard...really hard!

What we need from everyone who reads our blog is prayer, good thoughts, and tons of positivity that this paperwork "issue" will get sorted so we can bring Ade home.

Lady Bug Angel

I found this little Lady Bug Angel on our doorstep Friday night.
I hear tell in the adoption world they are very lucky.
But did you know they can also bake...it's true they can - she managed to carry a whole big tray of delicious homebaking on her wee little wings :)
We have amazing friends.
We couldn't get thru this without you.
Thank You!!!!

This Week's Quotable Quote

Remember when I did this.

Well, I am not doing it again. I am too tired and emotionally exhausted.

Although that is probably the best time to do it...but I think Project 365 covers it really.

What I really liked was when my yoga teacher would send us daily inspirations to get us thru the 40 days.

It kept me going!

I think I will do something something similar here except I will call it "This Week's Quotable Quotes" which I am totally ripping off of a weekly email I get from our local running club. Hmmmmmm...I should start running again....

Anyways,

Here is this week's "Quotable Quote".

Always Believe

Sometimes you find your strength waning.
You think you can't make it one more step.
Then a very good friend sends you something to remind you
to "Always Believe".

Welcome 2010

We welcomed in 2010 fondue style with Yvan's sister D, her husband K, Yvan's brother J-G and our good friends C & L.

All I can say was it as F.U.N.

The World Junior Hockey Championships are being hosted where we live...and last night's game was Canada vs. U.S.A so we watched the game while dipping our delicious treats. I am not a big fan of watching sports on t.v. but do like a good match between rivals.
Canada was down 4-2 with 9 minutes left and managed to tie the game...sudden death overtime followed with no score and onto a shoot-out...
...this is what happened while watching the shoot out!

Obviously Canada won the game securing them a spot in the semi-finals.

It was a great way to say Hello to 2010!

New Year's Project - on a bit of whim last night after reading another blog - I have decided to document my year in 2010, The Year of Ade (thanks for that Jackie), by doing my very own little Project 365...what is that you say - well you will have to go here toCheck Spelling find out:

Ranavan's Project 365

I wanted to keep this project separate from our adoption blog because it is a "Year in the life" look back for myself - I will likely cross post from time to time so I hope you don't mind.

If you want to follow along I would be honoured - you will also find the link on the right side of my blog as well.

Wish me luck!
