Could I Just Sleep...

...until we get a referral?

Oy, I am really trying hard not to get my expectations up for next week (our Rep should be sendng out referrals and updates)...but it is really hard :(

Any suggestions on managing my expectations would be greatly appreciated.

One idea I have is to sleep until we hear something!

That would be nice.

I'm trying to get addicted to running. Somehow it has turned into an addiction to cookies.

Really hoping next week is your week!

Oh Rana, I remember this just like it was yesterday, being in your shoes.

Honestly, I think there's zero anyone can say or do unless it's phoning to say, congratulations it's a......

It will come. It does come. You are stronger than you think.

And you might just get bed sores if you keep on sleeping :(

I hope next weekend I'm looking at your new pics!!

I wish I could make time speed up for you. These timelines are just insane. But it will happen, it does. Hugs

Can I crawl into bed next to you?? I would love to sleep the rest of this wait away as well- sorry that I did not have any good advice. All I can say is that I am with you 100%

I so hear you! I thought we were going to have a proposal weeks ago and nothing. NOTHING! I waiver between wanting to sleep the time away, drink or get some happy drugs. I won't do any of it, I'm trying to make a quilt. I have no idea how you have done it. I think I would loose what little sanity I have left if I had to wait as long as you have. You are my waiting hero!! It's only been a few months for us and I'm feeling at the end of my rope.

There should be a resort that specializes in adoptive waiting parents. It would be free of course. And have lots of good food that has no calories and drinks, etc.

:)

Hang in there. And I haven't figured out a way to deal with the hope, expectations and crash cycle as I now call it. If you figure it out, let me know.

I've got my fingers and toes crossed that you heard something this week. I hope that my prediction comes true!

You know I'm with you, Rana. I'm thinking if this time doesn't pan out for me, I might have my first, serious crash and burn.

I would definitely love to be at a PAP resort right now.

I wish I had some great idea for you to pass the time.

My fingers and toes are also crossed.

I totally vote for sleeping until you hear anything. Not only will time pass, but you'll be well-rested to start preparing for the incoming little person. :)

Hope some good news comes your way shortly!

Oh Rana. I haven't slept well since last week and I'm guessing it's weather related and stress related as we too are now on the edge of are we close enough- will this be "our month"... I so hope there's lots of good news this week... I have no help but know I'm waiting with you! And, I must say, this is the first week I'm going to have that "could this be the call?" feeling each time the phone rings...

No advise. You are doing better then I would have if my wait was as long as yours. Sending positive energy!

Yep, I remember feeling the same way....I wanted nothing more than for someone to put me in a coma and not wake me up until my referral was here. My fingers are crossed for you girl...I am so hoping that your baby will be in the foster home when I'm there.
Sending lots of hugs your way!

I asked Chris if I could just drink the year away but he wasn't a big supporter so I'm guessing being a passed out drunk isn't such a good idea, i'm praying and hoping this is your week, it just has to be. You have been so strong this whole journey you can make it a few more days...

My husband and I recently stated the adoption journey as well and I have been so envious of all those who have already waited a year (funny how perspective changes things)... the wait is almost over!

I am so hoping that your referral comes this week. The referrals for all of you give those of us "in waiting" so much hope. Thank you...

Fingers crossed for you to have a life changing phone call this week!

Thanks HB and welcome! You are right - a different perspective is good - all the best on your journey as well.
